Within 10 minutes of release, the birds were flying in high winds and a freak rain/snow storm in April in Vegas!   Jerry's birds held up well in these conditions and may have taken the top spot in better weather.

Birds came out working right away with some nice breaks but had to wait for time in due to out birds.  As soon as birds regrouped scored a few nice breaks, the falcon attacked, scattering them for the rest of the fly.

The region had some weird weather.  It went from a nice breeze in the early morning, to warming up with high pressure at 10AM, to a rain/snowstorm and high winds by Noon!  Snow in Vegas in April!  Only on fly day!

The flyers in Hawaii did a great job.  The weather was 75-82 degrees with some strong trade winds at several of the flyers.  The humidity was in the 60 percent range or raining.  Ian had a huge rain dump with rare thunder and lightning.  When the clouds parted, Mauna Kea had a fresh blanket of snow on it, JUST for ME!!  But Ian Parker was unable to fly.  Bobby Rapoza and Tom Mendes are their qualifiers.  Good job gentlemen!!  Rick Schoening

Cool weather with slight breeze. Great flying conditions.  Outstanding, entertaining team of spinners, clean in and out of the roll with nice depth and explosiveness.  Went a little high for a portion of fly but stayed within judging range. Got a nice 10 bird break with 2 seconds left that put him on top!

Was an honor to judge such a great group of guys and such a great group of quality spinners.  Very strong region top to bottom that is supporting each other with quality birds and sharing of knowledge.  New flyers are fortunate to be in this region with the support they get from the veterans and world class fliers in this region.  These guys are like a family or roller enthusiasts and treat each other with respect while having a fun time no matter the outcome of the fly.  I appreciate the opportunity to judge this group and have them as friends in the hobby and for life.

Due to having to move the Regional fly up because of the change in the Finals schedule after entries were submitted, the falcons had not moved on in time for many of the fliers causing losses.  This is the reason that the four fliers listed with 2 DNFs did not fly.

Scratched kit is an English term.  It is a form of disqualifying yourself.  For instance if your kit goes too high and stays there, instead making everybody stay and watch the kit for 20 minutes, the competitor will just scratch the kit and save every body time.
